El Pensador (The Thinker) takes its name from the intellectual Spanish journal first published in 1762. From the vision behind El Pensador, this wine invites you to explore the true tastes of Spain. The Verdejo grape variety is indigenous to North Africa, and was brought to Spain in the 11th Century. The Verdejo grape is usually harvested at night when the temperatures are cooler, helping to ensure that the juice does not turn brown during the crushing process.
The 2009 El Pensador Verdejo has a beautiful golden color to it, and is very aromatic. On the nose are wonderful aromas of pineapple, pear, apples and peach. The flavor associations are of pineapple, white peach, and apples. This is a medium-bodied wine, with wonderful fruit aromas and flavors, and is well balanced. A very nice drinking white, and is affordable at under $10.
