Be Flirty Pink Moscato – Wine Review

My daughter was preparing Cajun Andouille Pasta, and while at the store buying the necessary ingredients she called me to ask what wine would pair with a dish like this. With the amount of spice that she had in the recipe, I recommended an off-dry wine, such as an off-dry Riesling or an off-dry Gewurztraminer which would help to balance out the spice. When she arrived home with the Be Flirty Pink Moscato I was a bit surprised. This is not a wine that I would have chosen, but she did purchase it and brought it home. This blush Moscato is a very sweet wine, and while it was not bad with the meal, it is not one that I would have paired with it. When I opened the bottle I could smell the sweetness of this wine, and it had deep aromas of strawberries. The Be Flirty Pink Moscato is a wine that appeals to a certain segment that enjoys very sweet wines. This is a wine that I would never buy, but it does have an appeal to a large market.

Barefoot Cellars Moscato – Wine Review

Barefoot Wines got its start in the 1960′s as a “garage wine,” and their philosophy over the years has continued to the present. Their philosophy is simple, produce and market wines that are both delicious, and yet affordable.
The Barefoot Moscato is a sweet wine, with a ton of fresh fruit aromas and flavors. The first aroma is of yellow peaches, followed by apricots, white grapes, and a hint of tropical. This is an affordable sweet wine, one that would pair well with spicy foods. If you are looking to try something other than a White Zinfandel, give this one a try.
