The Trentino/Alto Adige wine region is located in northern Italy, and borders Switzerland and Austria to the north. Trentino and Alto Adige represent to distinct parts of this wine region. Trentino is found in the southern part of the region, and is centered around the town of Trento. The de Tarczal Azienda Agricola Marano d’Isera Estate has been producing wine in Vallagarina since the early 19th Century.

In sampling the de Tarczal Azienda Agricola Moscato Giallo (a.k.a. Yellow Muscat) 2007, the color in the glass is golden, with a hint of effervescence in the bowl. The aromas coming from this wine are lemon, apple, some tropical fruits, herbaceousness, oak, and a slight minerality. On the palate the tropical flavors hit first, followed by the citrus toward the back of the palate, and then the minerality brings about a slight tartness. This is a well balanced white wine, with great acidity, and a slight buttery feel in the mouth. It is a very easy drinking white wine, one that would do well on its own during the summer months. It would also stand-up well with butter-basted grilled shrimp served on a bed of rice pilaf.
